Tom Aiken's 2nd restaurant in London, just started serving brunch in Jan 2007. It's a cozy atmosphere where tables are shared between customers and you can crash on the comfy couches upstairs for a drink or coffee. Just avoid the naked picture of a drunken farmer just opposite the bar. You have to see it to believe it - hehe.

We wanted to sample this new addition to the menu, and sample we did. Everyone got their own dish (all different of course), and we had 3 shared plates amongst the 5 of us. You'll find there are some things that are average (omelet and waffle dishes), and some things that are divine.

Definitely get the blueberry pancake. It just comes with one pancake so you can have it as a side. I just ate, but I could eat one right now. Michelle and I rave about the butternut squash, honey and sage soup. It's a big portion and rather rich so make sure you have room for your next course :). The eggs benedict that I ordered was delicious, with the perfect amount of hollandaise sauce on top of not to runny poached eggs, and a slightly buttered and still crispy muffin. Plus the dish comes with crispy bacon like we get back home in the states! Top it with one of the better cups of coffee I've had in London (Del Aziz is my other brunch favorite). With all that food, we paid around £17/person. Not to shabby.

Make sure you make reservations if you are more than a party of 2. It's best to call about 1 week in advance. If it's just you or party of 2, you can sit at the bar and eat without reservations. I heard they close their kitchen around 3pm for brunch so don't show up too late! Enjoy!
